Unveiling a Bizarre Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Turdy Character in a Mission to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered a variety of engaging independent titles. Yet, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Called Unko Technica, this classic-feel side-scrolling game features a character that is actually a turd trying to navigate to a toilet. For those curious, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

Player controls is simple: press a single jump button. Throughout one hundred fifty levels, encounter mini-bosses and access a market to buy outfits for your dung hero.

Plan your actions with caution, since one wrong move forces beginning again. Leap using floating orbs to propel your character upward, navigate crumbling platforms, and touch triggers to unlock hidden paths. Earn coins for buying tougher levels as gameplay gets crazy.

In terms of design, the game boasts neon stages and catchy music score. The retro art featuring morphing basic polygons may remind gamers of old favorites like Earthbound.

While it's tough to think of other games where you control a piece of feces, interactive entertainment have long incorporated toilet humor. For example, in Death Stranding, players make grenades from protagonist excrement. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as plant food. And of course, such content shows up a lot in Obsidian's adventure The Stick of Truth.

Despite its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received impressive recognition, including being named best at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is accessible at present on Steam, with the complete version set to arrive on computers this November.
